Founded in Memphis, Tennessee in 1932, Southern College of Optometry has trained thousands of optometrists that live and practice in all 50 states and abroad. Our students represent a large cross-section of demographics and regional areas of our nation. Many of our faculty received their optometric education at other schools and colleges of optometry but chose to teach and practice at SCO.

The Church Health Center seeks to reclaim the Church’s biblical commitment to care for our bodies and our spirits. Our ministries provide healthcare for the working uninsured and promote healthy bodies and spirits for all. But healthcare is about more than just prescribing pills. We at the Church Health Center believe we have a responsibility to take care of the bodies God gave us, so we have been committed from our beginning to health education and prevention. The Fellowship is available at our wellness facility. Our wellness ministry now offers everything from personalized exercise plans and cooking classes to group exercise classes and activities for children and teens. Church Health Center Wellness is open to the entire community with fees charged on a sliding scale based on family size and income.
The Exceptional Foundation of West Tennessee (EFWT) enriches the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by meeting their social, recreational, and continued educational needs. EFWT has established a variety of programs that improve the quality of life for participants at the EFWT such as arts and crafts, health and wellness, social skills, drama, sign language and more! The Foundation also provides after-school programming for school-age children. EFWT offers twice-a-month weekend events such as dinner and a movie, karaoke and dances parties, talent shows and more! There is also an 8-week long summer day camp. EFWT also offers full-year day and half day program for after children finish school.
